India: PPH Between India and Japan, 2nd Year Notification for 100 requests released by the IPO

On November 23, 2020, the Indian Patent Office released the second year notification inviting Applicants to file 100 PPH requests under the three-year Bilateral Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot program which commenced in November last year.

The IPO will start accepting the PPH applications on a first-come-first-served basis under Chapter 5 of the PPH Guidelines from December 7, 2020.

While the total number of requests for the PPH is limited to 100 cases, the IPO has yet again limited the number of requests for the PPH made by the same applicant, either alone or jointly with any other applicant, to not more than 10 PPH requests per year.

If you wish to file a request under IPO-JPO PPH program for any of your applications, please let us have your instructions and provide us the required documents at the earliest. The formal guidelines enlisting the requirements for filing a PPH application can be accessed here.
