It is evident from the decisions of the Indian Patent Office (IPO) and the Indian Courts that the scenario of pharmaceutical patents in India is evolving at an accelerated speed. Understanding the need for patentability of pharmaceuticals in India, the IPO is aligning its practice with the rest of the world and adopting a pro-patentee attitude.
